Find a Replacement for a Worn-Out Pair

When a running shoe wears out or retires, Find a Replacement suggests a well-matched successor from the catalog — starting from the pair you're replacing, right from its page or the Hall of Fame.

On this page

When a pair wears out or you retire it, Find a Replacement helps you choose its successor — without starting your search from scratch. It’s aimed at a specific shoe: the one you’re replacing. This is a Premium feature.

How it works

Instead of searching the whole catalog blind, Find a Replacement starts from the pair you’re replacing — its specs and the role it played in your rotation — and suggests catalog shoes that fit the same job. It draws on the same catalog data and your preferences as the Shoe Finder, so the successor it proposes is matched to what worked before, not just what’s popular.

Where to find it

You can start a replacement from three places:

  • The pair’s own page — the natural spot when a shoe is getting close to retirement.
  • “Replace Soon” in the Shoe Finder — the pairs the Finder flags as wearing out.
  • The Hall of Fame — your retired shoes, so you can replace a favourite even after you’ve put it away.

Why it matters

The hardest pair to replace is the one you loved. Starting from the shoe you’re retiring — rather than a blank catalog — makes it far more likely the next pair feels right, which keeps your rotation steady through the change. For how to tell when a pair is actually done, see the guide on when to replace running shoes.
