Shoe Health is built so that your health and shoe data stays yours. You get accurate per-pair tracking without handing your workout data to a third party.
How your data is handled
- Apple Health data is processed on your device — in memory only. It’s never written to a database and never sent to a third-party server.
- Your shoe profiles live on your device and in your private iCloud container, tied to your Apple ID.
- It works offline. Everything runs locally; iCloud sync happens in the background when a connection is available.
- You control Health access at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Shoe Health, granting or revoking each permission independently.
Restore without a login
Because your shoe data is stored in your private iCloud, it restores automatically when you reinstall the app or set up a new device — as long as you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. There’s no separate account to create and no password to manage.
Honest about marketing attribution
To be transparent: separate from your private health data, the app uses standard marketing-attribution tools (including the Meta SDK) to understand which ads and campaigns bring runners to the app. This concerns app installs — not your health or shoe data — and you can limit it in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Why it matters
Tracking your shoes shouldn’t mean giving up control of your running data. Keeping health data on device and in your own iCloud means the useful part — accurate mileage and wear from Apple Health — comes without the privacy cost.
